| Abstract | Henri Friedlaender was an internationally renowned Jewish typographer and type designer. This collection offers a modest but diverse overview of his work in printed form. In addition to the usual published material, the collection contains small printed items that he made for private use. Friedlaender's interest in Hebrew sacred texts is quite apparent in this collection. It can be seen in the various translations of books of the Bible that he published himself. Other items in the collection include a manuscript, a sketchbook, slides and a number of letters, including letters addressed to the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana, as well as correspondence with Martin Buber. |
