| Abstract | Since 1971 the University Library manages the Tetterode collection, which was bought from ‘Lettergieterij en Machinehandel’, a type foundry and machine business formerly called ‘N. Tetterode-Nederland NV’. Internationally, it is one of the largest collections dealing with the history of graphic technique and design. The largest part of the collection is from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The collection consists of a library - which is partly technical and partly museological - and of archival material. The latter includes the collections S.H. de Roos and the type designer’s archive. Besides books and magazines, there are manuscripts, pictures, brochures, posters and calendars. |
